Greetings and a happy autumn season from Kaiten Books! The weather has been fluctuating between hot and cold over here in California, but with any luck we might actually stay under 90 degrees as 2021 slowly starts to wind down. Speaking of the end of the year, we have some exciting news to share as we head into the holiday season!
First and foremost, some big news dropped for one of our current series: The Yakuza’s Guide to Babysitting is getting an anime! We’re just as excited as everyone else to see Kirishima and Yaeka making their debut on screen, and can’t wait to watch whenever it premieres.
We’ve also released a few new titles digitally since our last press release, with Loner Life in Another World Vol. 5 (manga), Gacha Girls Corps Vol. 2 (manga), and The Yakuza’s Guide to Babysitting Vol. 2 all available now on digital storefronts.
Good news for fans of physical books, we finally have confirmation for when you can expect the next batch of printed books for all your favorite Kaiten Books series! We are happy to announce that the physical releases of Loner Life in Another World Vol. 4 (manga), My Dad’s the Queen of All VTubers?! Vol. 2, and Welcome to the Outcast’s Restaurant Vol. 1 (manga) are all set to release on January 4th, 2022! Pre-orders can be made through the usual suspects via Right Stuf, Book Depository, Amazon, and more, with links to each storefront up on our website. We are also reprinting Loner Life in Another World Vol. 1 (manga), so if you missed out the first time around now’s your chance to snag yourself a copy!
Last but not least, we thought we could use a little help announcing all our news from here on out, so we’re happy to introduce the newest (digital) member of the Kaiten Books team: Tenko! Designed by the talented Sen-Jou, you can expect her to make an appearance whenever there’s news to share. Look forward to seeing a whole lot more of her in the months to come!
We would like to thank everyone for being patient with us as we continue to work toward stabilizing our printed release schedule. We’re still dealing with slowdowns in our supply chain from everything that’s happened over the past year, but rest assured we have already made print orders for our other titles and will announce as soon as we have solid dates! There might even be some other exciting news to share in the near future...

Springing into summer!

It’s the middle of spring, and everyone here at Kaiten Books hopes that everyone is staying safe as we continue to move forward toward something that resembles “normal” again. It’s been a little while since our last press release, but rest assured we’ve been busy behind the scenes getting some exciting stuff set up! We’ve got a couple of announcements to make over the month, but we wanted to get the ball rolling with something we’re more than happy to share sooner rather than later:

We’re ecstatic to announce that Kaiten Books has partnered with Pathway Book Service to act as the distributor for our physical releases! Our catalog of books will now be available through major bookstores such as Barnes & Noble and Book Depository, making it much simpler for manga fans worldwide to find our books through their preferred retailers. Some of you might have even already noticed some of our titles making their way to your local bookstores!

Working alongside a distributor doesn’t just make it easier to find our books, but it also makes it easier for us to print more books as well—which is why we’re taking full advantage of the opportunity right away. We’re happy to announce a new batch of printed titles coming over the next couple months, starting with Loner Life in Another World Vol. 3 in just a bit more than a month! That’s not all, though—we’ve also got the physical versions of Shed that Skin, Ryugasaki-san! Vol. 2, Gacha Girls Corps Vol. 1, The Yakuza's Guide to Babysitting Vol. 1, and the unaltered version of UzaMaid: Our Maid is Way Too Annoying! Vol. 1 all coming up as well later in summer. We hope you’re just as excited as we are to finally be able to have these titles on our shelf!

On the digital front, today also marks the release of the digital version of Loner Life in Another World Vol. 4 on all the usual digital platforms, so we hope you’re looking forward to seeing what Haruka and the gang get up to this time...as well as getting to meet a surprising new character along the way! Feel free to check out the continuing misadventures of Takashi in My Dad's the Queen of All VTubers?! Vol. 2 which released earlier last month. We have to give props to the amazing people working to bring the stories to life in English, all of which you can find credited on our website.

That’s all the news we have for you at the moment, but keep your eyes peeled for more announcements on our social media as the month carries on! It’s all because of you guys that we’ve managed to get to this point, and we hope you’re just as excited to see what else we have planned for the future as we are!

Hello all! What a crazy couple of weeks it’s been for us here at Kaiten Books (it’s been a pretty crazy year in general, but that’s beside the point.) It’s a great feeling to finally expand our physical print catalog with Loner Life in Another World Vol. 2, Shed that Skin, Ryugasaki-san! Vol. 1, and My Dad’s the Queen of All VTubers?! Vol. 1, which are currently available through Right Stuf and Amazon.
Not only that, but speaking of My Dad’s the Queen of All VTubers—we were lucky enough to have Mori Calliope of hololive-EN do a live reading of volume 1 on stream earlier this week! You’ll want to do yourself a favor and check it out when you get the chance if you haven’t seen it yet, especially if you want to laugh.
On the topic of virtual content, we’re also proud to announce that we are officially partnering with the fine folks at Virtual Comiket 5 (Vket) as a sponsor! For those who want to delve into the world of virtual conventions themselves, the fun starts next Saturday, Dec. 19th (JST)! Make sure you keep an eye on the billboards around the various worlds, you might just spot us there. We’re also a featured exhibitor on Anime NYC's Virtual Expo Floor, so be sure to check us out there as well!
As the year winds down to a close, we were wondering if there was any more room for surprises before we finally left 2020 behind—and we’re excited to say we found some! Coming in 2021...

A whole lotta print releases!

First and foremost, we hope everyone has been keeping safe during these crazy times. We’re heading straight into the middle of autumn, which means it’s about time we started rolling out some new announcements!
To start us off, we’ve got some good news for those who have been waiting for more Kaiten Books physical releases: we have confirmed that print runs for Shed that Skin, Ryugasaki-san! Vol. 1, My Dad’s the Queen of All VTubers?! Vol. 1, and Loner Life in Another World Vol. 2 will be shipping out in November! Copies will be made available through both Right Stuf and Amazon for purchase, with preorders currently open for each title on Right Stuf’s website. You can find a synopsis for each of the volumes below, as well as bios for the localization staff who worked on them.
Speaking of our favorite lizardgirl, the digital version of Shed that Skin, Ryugasaki-san! Vol. 2 released last month! It’s available on all the usual platforms, so give it a read if you’re craving some cute monster girl antics.
This is the first of many announcements that we have lined up for the coming months, so look forward to what else we have in store!
